Are you looking to have the highest quality custom pontoon boat in the market? Your first step would be to build your own pontoon boat with a polypropylene base.

The decades of successful experience of our polypropylene tanks in the fire industry allowed our parent company United Plastic Fabricating (UPF), to open up its new industrial division Custom Plastic Fabrications (CPF). We saw the opportunity to bring solutions across new industries because of our main material’s consistent success, polypropylene. Our commitment is to provide you with the highest value custom pontoon in the market.

Poly pontoons are durable, flexible, and rust-proof, saving you money over the long haul. Because biological hazards and barnacles do not easily attach to plastic, routine maintenance will be greatly reduced. Moreover, it is nearly impossible to puncture a pontoon comprised of poly. Lastly—and perhaps most importantly—the increased buoyancy provided by our pontoons enables our customers to carry a far greater amount of their products on each haul back to shore!

Utilizing the decades of experience and expertise of UPF, Custom Plastic Fabrications will continue to manufacture the highest quality products while still being cost-effective. Our priority is ensuring that all our custom fabricated products perfectly match your specific needs. Below, you will find many reasons you should consider using poly instead of steel or aluminum on your pontoon boat.

CPF Poly Custom Pontoon Benefits

Biological Hazards and Barnacles Do Not Easily Attach to Plastic

Iron and fiberglass suffer from the biological hazards and barnacles that attach to their surfaces. The extra drag created on pontoons reduces fuel efficiency and speed. Additionally, if your custom pontoon is covered with barnacles, your boat will produce more CO2 emissions.

Plastic is 100% Rustproof

Pontoons made of steel or iron will rust over time. Hurricanes, collisions with the docks, air moisture, and prolonged contact with salt water are the main reasons that contribute to the damage and long-term erosion of aluminum or steel pontoons. By using a polypropylene pontoon when you build a pontoon boat, you will never have to worry about any rust on your custom pontoons. We guarantee that your own poly custom pontoon boats made by CPF will not rust, increasing both the lifespan and resale value of your vessel.

Adds Value to Your Boat (for Resale)

Should the day come when you’re ready to upgrade your boat, you will realize a much larger resale price for your vessel due to our poly pontoons. You will be able to point out the myriad of benefits that the long-lasting, dent-resistant, rust-proof pontoons will also afford the next owner.

Poly Pontoon Boats are Easier to Clean

Cleaning is much easier since rust, biological hazards, and barnacles are not an issue for your poly custom pontoons. Because barnacles do not attach well to the surface, it is very easy to clean your pontoon boat. To clean your pontoon boats thoroughly, you can use a flat plastic piece or a pressure washer.

Poly Custom Pontoons Are Not Prone to Denting

Poly custom pontoon boats are tough. Flexibility allows them able to bend or deform without breaking. As a result, poly custom pontoon boats are more durable. Conversely, aluminum pontoons are softer and prone to denting and cracking. Additionally, scratches and dings aren't an issue if you build your own pontoon boat with a polypropylene pontoon. Due to its outstanding durability, polypropylene plastic doesn't crack upon any ordinary external force and can even resist the impact of a sledgehammer.

This application includes bulkheads

The bulkheads provide watertight compartments to limit the amount of water that could breach the pontoon. Also, they offer the ability to provide ballast. Thus, providing the proper level of flotation to make the watercraft stable and level. Additionally, they could be used to store both gray and freshwater.

Saves Time and Money on Maintenance

Without rust, biological hazards, and barnacles you will save money and time on maintenance. Also, the cleaning process for your poly custom pontoon boat will far easier. And last (but not least), you won’t have to worry about collisions with docks (or ice) damaging your pontoons.

More Friendly to the Environment

CPF engages in a wide range of green initiatives that demonstrate our commitment to doing business in an environmentally responsible manner. In this regard, we are adhered to help reduce carbon emissions, preserve wooded areas and biodiversity, and keep our air and water clean. Learn more about our Green and Lean Initiatives.

CPF Reclaims Material

Following our environmental responsibilities, we reclaim cut material in our factories and weld together to form additional sheets for more work. Thus, significantly reducing unnecessary waste. In addition, the scrap material is reground with the supplier and recycled for future use.

We Offer Product Support

Our team of technicians comes directly to you for any repair or modification to your product. Each technician is a full-time CPF employee that receives regular training. Our product support includes warranty claims, aftermarket modification product support, and post-warranty product support. Learn more about how our product support team can help you.
